Earth  Day Roundup

A group of people wearing orange safety vests pose outdoors, some with tools and supplies, near a lake and hills.

This year’s Earth Day was celebrated by MVSD throughout April with a McNabney Marsh cleanup event and the John Muir Birthday Earth Day Celebration.

We want to send a big “THANK YOU” to our volunteers who came out to McNabney Marsh on April 5th and cleaned up trash and removed invasive plants. Your efforts help to protect our environment and to maintain the marsh’s beauty for the community to enjoy.

Two children are coloring at a table outdoors with coloring sheets and a box of crayons.

MVSD was a proud sponsor of the John Muir Birthday Earth Day Celebration at the John Muir National Site in Martinez on April 26th. Visitors to the event enjoyed live music, storytelling, and a variety of booths filled with activities and information. Those who stopped by the MVSD booth learned about pollution prevention and protecting our wetlands.
